What I've done
I was born in Maidstone Kent in 1974. I enjoy travelling and have visited and lived in several different countries including New Zealand, Belgium and south Germany. Before leaving England in 1997 I worked for Churchill Insurance for four years. My first job as a teacher was in Spa, Belgium where I worked for Ceran Lingua on both their adult and junior programmes. I then spent a year in Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand on a working holiday. Following that I went travelling in Australia and South East Asia. I returned to Europe in 1999 and moved to Ingolstadt, Bavaria where I worked at Audi Akademie as a Business English trainer. I have now returned to England and have bought a house in Bath with my partner Mike.
My qualifications
I'm currently studying with the The Open University and have so far gained a Diploma in German. Ultimately I am studying for a BA (Hons) in Language Studies. My teaching qualifications include the Trinity Diploma in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), the Cert TIEB (Certificate in Teaching English for International Business) and the Trinity Certificate in TESOL.
What I enjoy doing
Obviously I enjoy languages that's why I've chosen both to work with them all day and in my freetime. I enjoy helping people achieve their goals and I enjoy working with a variety of learners in lessons and seminars. I also like running train-the-trainer sessions because I feel I have knowledge which I can share with fellow trainers. When not teaching or learning, workwise I enjoy writing materials - a field I have become increasingly involved in over the years. Non-work related hobbies include travelling, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, aerobics (I'm a YMCA NZ qualified instructor) and cooking. My newest hobby has become interior design - decorating and renovating our new home!
